Client Care Liaison

Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists is seeking a full-time, Client Care Liaison to join our Client Care team in Oak Creek!  The Client Care Liaison works as the liaison between the referring doctor, our hospital doctors, the medical support team, the client and patient.  Ideal candidates have exceptional communication, customer service, and organizational skills. 

 

Proposed Schedule:

Wednesdays 6a-3p, Thursdays and Fridays 8a-6p plus every other weekend.

 

This schedule allows for a four day weekend every other week to promote an ideal work/life balance.

 

Duties of the Client Care Liaison include but are not limited to:

  • Receive inbound calls from clients and rDVMs of a technical nature to answer questions and provide status updates on patients or results.
  • Return client and rDVM calls, relay messages to the doctor, and call clients back with doctor response.
  • Explain hospital processes and policies, to include appointments and procedures for clients.
  • Maintain communication with client when patient is recovering at home and on subsequent visits and document information appropriately.
  • Call in new prescriptions and refills as needed.
  • Facilitate patient discharges.
  • Provide administrative support to the medical team by ensuring that client records are updated with essential information (i.e. SOAPS, charges, message center) for applicable clients.
  • Assist families through the paperwork and finances of euthanasia. Help clients to cope with their pets health condition, euthanasia, or pet loss in a compassionate manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and duties will vary based on experience and patient needs.

 

Requirements

Experience

  • Recent work in Veterinary Hospital highly preferred, customer service experience a must; veterinary technicians & assistants are encouraged to apply.

 

 Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

Certificates and Licenses

  • Credentialed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection as a Certified Veterinary Technician preferred. 

 

Skills

  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Word Processing software. It will also be necessary to become proficient in the use of the practice management software, ImproMed Infinity, and to perform clerical work (update patient records and message center) with speed and accuracy.
  • Client Care and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and proficiency at greeting clients graciously. Maintain a harmonious and cooperative relationship with those contacted in the course of a day.
  • Confidentiality: With access to proprietary and other confidential information, must be highly trustworthy and able to handle confidential records and bank deposits.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fractious animals, various hazardous chemicals, zoonotic diseases and radiation. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to analyze and resolve problems. Must be organized, detailed and able to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
