Regional Manager

As a member of Lakeshore’s leadership team, the Regional Manager is a champion of Lakeshore’s culture and a role model of Lakeshore’s values. Driving best practices across locations, the Manager provides leadership and operations expertise to all team members and is involved in community service. The Manager serves as the leader and directly supervises Lakeshore’s three location Hospital Managers. The Manager holds regularly scheduled hours at each location, including all possible shifts (days/hours) of operations as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

While under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Finance, the Regional Manager must be able to effectively and accurately perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:

Leadership and Engagement

  • Direct management of Hospital Managers, providing coaching, direction and support of their daily work, and meeting regularly to address pertinent issues.
  • Serves as key liaison across Lakeshore’s locations to ensure consistency and accuracy in the application of operational policy, practice culture and ensures communication across hospitals.
  • Participates in interviewing, hiring and evaluating key management and doctor candidates.
  • Participates in public relations with both the referring community and the general public.

Hospital Management

  • Oversees and assists Hospital Managers in the following areas as needed: employee engagement, employee relations, recruiting and hiring, training and development, performance evaluations and corrections, client services, and doctor management.
  • Serve as a key resource for Hospital Managers as it relates to development of and changes in existing hospital policy and protocol.
  • Partners with the Training Manager and Director of Human Resources and Employee
  • Development to provide advanced training and education to the Lakeshore employees.
  • Assists Hospital Managers in development of Supervisors and Lead employees.

Finance and Metrics

  • With oversight and support from the Director or Operations and Finance,
  • Monitors various financials and metrics (budgets, revenue generation, fiscal business management, staff metrics and daily deposits).
  • Oversees employee cost management, including time and overtime management and payroll processing.
  • Manages and monitors key performance indicators, while staying within defined specified parameters unless otherwise approved.
  • Leads the Hospital Managers with financial duties, including daily deposits and monitoring hospital fees.
  • Understands doctor production and revenue trends, and partners with the Hospital Managers for performance coaching opportunities for doctors with poor production.
  • Manages key performance indicators as related to operations, to assess progress and identify weaknesses, while staying within defined specified benchmarks.
Requirements

 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of certified practice management or hospital administration experience is necessary.
  • Recent experience at a veterinary hospital is preferred.

Education

  • A Bachelor degree required.
  • Formal training, degree or certification in hospital management and administration preferred.Certification in veterinary hospital management is a plus.
  • Certification in veterinary hospital management is a plus.

Skills

  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication, plus leadership and organizational confidence. Ability to manage employees of all skill levels. Ability to present material effectively to large and small groups.
  • Leadership: Excels in leading, mentoring, positive coaching and employee development.
  • Empowerment: Empower employees to take responsibility for their roles and goals.  Delegate responsibility  and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Technology: Proficient in word processing software, Excel, practice management software (ImproMed Infinity).
  • Attention to detail: Perform administrative work with speed and accuracy.
  • Organization: Superior organizational skills, with the ability to management multiple projects and responsibilities at multiple locations.
  • Analysis: Superior analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information and use critical thinking to formulate solutions.
  • Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, an employee is frequently required to stand; walk; handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, have vision ability, and talk or hear.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may sometimes require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of the job.  Some evening and weekend work is required as part of the normal work week.
